Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress who is best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After her parents' divorce her parents separated, she moved to Worthington in Ohio and moved at Los Angeles. She was struggling to get by and was offered her first acting role as Rachel's Room's leading character. After earning a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance as Murder In Greenwich of 15 year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to win. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main protagonist for two seasons and also won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. After leaving the show, Grace was keen to work more prominently in film having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 as well as Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) are her re-casts of these role. Grace played the role as Shannon in two episodes of Lost including the series finale. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith who's the star-gazer and a the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Gyllenhaal is a part of the family, and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career in the teen years with minor appearances in her father's films and appeared alongside her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). She also appeared as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) both of which resulted in the Golden Globe Award nomination. The actress gained more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films she starred in in 2006. In the wake of her performance that was a hit as an unmarried mother on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years she appeared in comedy and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Her other roles include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in the film Frank (2014) as well as the title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). The debut of Gyllenhaal as a writer and director took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
